ABOUT ME
Hi! My name is Justin Daniel and I am a certified sound healing practitioner and breathwork instructor. I’ve spent over a decade in the music industry working in various roles, from being a musician to a recording studio owner to managing artists. I also spent many years working in marketing, social media management, and business consulting.
It was the latter that I recently worked that caused me to get burnt out with how aggressive and unrelenting those professions are (social media never sleeps).
It was after that I took some time to figure out where the universe really wanted me to be, and through that journey, I seamlessly found myself where I am now.
Now I get to use all the skills I've acquired in various industries to help people better relax and put them in a space to really start to heal both physically and mentally. It’s through intentional periods of deep relaxation that we can experience innumerable cascading positive side effects in other aspects of our lives!
What does ‘Moksha’ Mean?
MOKSHA = freedom from suffering.
Moksha is a Sanskrit word that literally means freedom/liberation. But not merely freedom from rebirth but freedom from suffering, here and now. An enlightened or liberated person is one who’s been completely freed from suffering through the teachings of a spiritual path like Advaita Vedanta.
Vedānta is understood to be moksha shāstra - which means scriptural teachings that lead to liberation - moksha.
Sound healing is agnostic. It works regardless of your personal spiritual beliefs and faith. Because remember, in sound healing, we are working with the power of sound, vibration, energy, and intent. Those things exist independently of your personal beliefs.
In the context of how I use that idea of moksha in my sound healing practice, is that by receiving sessions that utilize the phenomenal power of sound, vibration, energy, and intent, those things allow our bodies and minds to relax, recover and reflect inward to help us in our journey to suffer less in this life.
There is a lot more I could say about Advaita Vedanta and how it helps remove the veil of ignorance in our lives to see the world how it truly is. Those philosophical concepts about consciousness and our true reality are not necessary for your enjoyment of a sound healing session, but if you would like to know a bit more about it, keep an eye out as I plan to write up a larger blog post that goes into much more detail that will hopefully advance your spiritual knowledge (jnana yoga)!
